If you're using socket-based consoles (like a terminal server) and trying to run any of the 8.0.X code, please upgrade to 8.0.9. A major connect()/select() handling bug is fixed that prevents consoles from timing out. Certain cases allow the pre-8.0.9 code to work, but it seems more a fluke than anything else. version 8.0.9 (Dec 10, 2003): - fixed major bug in connect() handling which causes most socket-based consoles to timeout after 10 seconds - reported by Tom Rataski <trataski@intlsteel.com> - added a couple details to the 'logfilemax' manpage entry Bryan Stansell
